Corey’s Artwork and Creative Process
For the past 14 years, Corey Ribotsky has been painting acrylics, oil paintings, and watercolors. As a child, color has always fascinated him, as well as how subtle changes in value can transform a flat plane into an object that appears three-dimensional when changed slightly. As a matter of fact, he has been fascinated by the "language" of watercolor for most of his life, that is, how the pigment flows over the paper, and what it can do depending on the application: whether it explodes with vigor, or whether it blends slowly, is up to the artist.
In Corey's paintings, the North Atlantic and New York are constant themes that run through them. Aside from his use of color and light, he also uses a variety of media to create powerful images, which are hallmarks of the increasingly successful work he creates. In order to accomplish this goal, he uses a combination of different lighting conditions to achieve extreme light and shadow. A strong emphasis is placed on color, shape, value, and light in the works of the artist, which allows viewers to explore the subject from all angles.
Corey creates pieces that reflect his love of nature. Despite the fact that he is deeply in love with the natural world. He finds the ocean to be one of the most inspiring places in the entire natural world. As well as experimenting with a wide variety of materials that can be used in abstract art, Corey Ribotsky is also capable of experimenting with the methods by which to achieve this, which has enabled him to create a wide variety of new paintings.
